MY STORY...
At the end of each week, when the scrubs are off and I’m relaxing at home, I like to reflect on my life so far. These days people know me as a Personal Image Consultant and Cosmetic Physician, yet behind the fancy titles lies humble beginnings. You see that photo of the little boy on this page? That’s me early on in my birthplace of Sri Lanka.
Back then, I recognised that I had a flair for creativity which was passed onto me from my mother who was – and continues to be – my life’s biggest influence. So as I grew older, I knew that a fulfilling career would be one where I could engage these talents, my eye for detail and problem-solving skills. Before long I was university bound, initially undertaking architecture before pivoting towards a medical degree.
Upon graduation, I set my sights on the UK before a change of heart led me to Australia. You see that strapping young adult pictured in the blue suit jacket? That’s one of my first photos Down Under at a wedding in coastal Queensland. Despite being halfway around the world and finally enjoying the perks of an income after years of study, to enhance my career I went on to complete additional studies at several global institutions.
Who would have thought that the tiny brown boy from Sri Lanka would become a Board Certified Cosmetic Physician and International Trainer with the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine? What about a DHI International Trained and Certified Hair Transplant Surgeon and Hair Care Specialist? Life’s crazy!
From a passion point of view, my penchant for studying has extended into the field of fashion. I’ve successfully completed courses at the Australian Style Institute, London College of Style, London College of Fashion and Milan Fashion Campus. Such teachings have not only refined my design capabilities and own style, but also developed my interest in classic and vintage men’s clothing.
Combining my passion for fashion and medical prowess, alongside my outgoing nature and desire to help and uplift others, it’s as if the universe conspired to make me a Personal Image Consultant. So now when I ask: See that image of the man in the double breasted jacket and shades? I hope you can understand why I stand before you proud of who I am and excited for what’s to come.
