MAKE A FASHION STATEMENT WITH LINEN
DON'T SLEEP ON LINEN, THE YEAR-ROUND MEN'S FASHION STAPLE
As the global fashion industry continues to break new trends and revitalise old ones, one of my favourite fabrics in linen is back in favour around the world.
Derived from the flax plant which has an incredible ability to be grown in average soil conditions with low amounts of water, I particularly love linen for its unrivalled versatility.
Perfect for casual outings, formal events and work attire, the material of linen makes it easy to dress up and dress down in comfort (check out some of my favourite looks in the images).
As a resident of Queensland, Australia, where the weather can get particularly humid and sticky, comfort is key because other clothing can prove uncomfortable to wear in this climate.
I guess that’s why I’m always shocked that linen isn’t more popular with more Australian males.
After all, there are so many ways it can be incorporated into day-to-day outfits such as via linen jackets, sports coats, cargo pants and so on.
Adding to the appeal of linen is the fact that it boasts several amazing properties in terms of health and wellness.
For those who have hypersensitive skin from which issues arise with certain fabrics, linen is breathable and allows airflow which minimises irritation.
From an environmentally conscious point of view, I’ll also note that linen is biodegradable and broken down when you discard it.
Fiscally speaking, given that in Queensland it can be worn year-round, linen presents as a great option to get value for money when shopping because you don’t have to shop for each season.
Talk about immense upside.
With summer just around the corner Down Under, my advice to you right now is to spice up your wardrobe with more linen!
